This year the National Prayer Breakfast, February 5-6, was back to one event held at the Washington Hilton Hotel. Highlights were many but our involvements are what we can comment on:
One of our Congressmen friends (who sponsors the tour we host of the US Capitol) lost his wife to cancer just one week before. Because of our weather event, we just did not have time to recruit
a replacement and had to cancel the tour. The first time in almost 40 years.
We are part of hosting many groups to a suite for prayer, presentations, provisions, and processing of the event. One favorite is the Friends of Technology group. It is mostly young very gifted entrepreneurs and CEO’s of significant companies that are on the cutting edge. The other is cadets from all 5 Military Academies that we get to encourage and pray for. We had our friend General Julie and others share with them. I gave the closing prayer, commissioning them to go forth by faith believing they have he right stuff to do whatever God is leading them to do.
The controversial part was the President’s talk that went way over time. It was not as reconciliatory as the other participants who helped get it back in the Spirit of things. If interested, watch below:
