So what are ERG’s? So when it comes to having Bible studies and prayer groups in the workplace, some of the leading Fortune 100 companies have established Employee Resource Groups (ERG). Companies along with their human resource departments are seeing the necessity to having employees that are healthy, with a right state of mind, and spiritual vitality. This allows for greater productivity when employee morale is increased.
For example, Coca Cola Consolidated based in Charlotte, North Carolina is a publicly traded company with a kingdom focus. They are not only faith friendly outwardly but also inwardly in its mission. ” At Coca-Cola Consolidated, we strive to fulfill our Purpose — to honor God in all we do, to serve others, to pursue excellence, and to grow profitably.” They not only have groups meeting for prayer but have brought chaplains into their plant locations!
I was in Washington, DC for this conference at the invitation of Mark Whitacre who serves as the Executive Director, T-Factor of Coca-Cola Consolidated (top photo far right). I was also introduced to Chris Champion with Corporate Chaplains (top photo center). It was great to connect with what God is doing in the marketplace and share also how He is at work in the government sector. Both of these two sectors are truly key in the next Spiritual Awakening in our land. We are seeing prayer groups emerging with enthusiasm and hunger in both of these spaces!
We are truly looking for a great partnership with Coco Cola Consolidated and Corporate Chaplains.
