Just a few weeks ago I was on a Zoom call with a group in Kenya. What they did and why was truly amazing! This group of students and leaders gathered to learn more about Jesus of Nazareth. They wanted to met to learn how to follow Him. What they learned about Him would then be passed on to others.
Everyone introduced themselves. They were also asked why they come back to this little group. There responses are such an encouragement for all of us.
- Want to know Jesus better.
- Want to know Jesus more and in the right space with the right people.
- Never enough to hear about Jesus.
- What Jesus expects of me and how to live life.
We spent the next hour studying the Scriptures and focusing upon Jesus in the Gospels. A take away for all of us was seeing Jesus speaking about His extended family. Jesus speaks beyond our biological family and shows of our kinship in Him through believing in Him by faith. We are united in Jesus into this family!
“Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.” (Mk 3:34–35)
It was an honor for me to share with the Kenyan friends about God working in other leaders and the ministry work. I then closed our time out in prayer.
Here is how we can continue to pray for our friends in Kenya.
- Pandemic
- People loosing job and the effects on people who depend upon this one working
- Group in Kenya
- Leadership in the decision making.
- Student Leadership of Kenya
